Fox Atomic, the new youth-focused division of Fox Filmed Entertainment, announced today the winner of its first “15 Gigs of Fame” online casting contest. Stuart MacArthur, a 24 year-old from Anaheim, Calif., will receive a role in Fox Atomic’s re-imagining of the 1984 classic “Revenge of the Nerds,” to be released next year. “Words cannot express how thrilled I am to have won a role in ‘Revenge of the Nerds,’ said Stuart MacArthur.

Foxatomic.com, the company’s interactive broadband channel, kicked off the contest in July at San Diego’s Comic-Con International, home of North America’s largest comic book and pop culture convention. Using The Blender, an online video editing and viewing feature designed by Fox Atomic in partnership with Jumpcut.com, over 1,500 Comic-Con participants auditioned at specially designed kiosks in the Fox Atomic booth for their “15 Gigs of Fame” and a chance to win a role in the upcoming movie. The online community voted for the top ten winners, from which Fox Atomic ultimately chose the grand prize winner. According to David Glanzer, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Comic-Con International, “We were excited that Fox Atomic chose Comic-Con to launch this creative endeavor, and with non-stop auditions throughout the show it was obviously a great pairing.”
