Channel Seven today announced Grant Denyer will host the new series Australia’s Got Talent, which will search for the freshest undiscovered talent in the country.

Denyer – who finished his three year tenure as Sunrise’s weatherman last Friday – will step into the new hosting gig next year. The popular Denyer has had a massive 2006 – combining his Sunrise duties with hosting It Takes Two and impressing the judges and a national audience with his winning performance on Dancing with the Stars earlier this year.

Australia’s Got Talent is open to people young and not so young – dancers, ventriloquists, circus acts, yodellers, performance artists, acrobats, magicians and signers – the weird, the wacky, the wild and the wonderful.

Dannii Minogue is confirmed as the first of three judges for Australia’s Got Talent.

Australia’s Got Talent is based on the format created by Simon Cowell. The US version was the number 1 new program in this year’s US summer schedule. Australia’s Got Talent will premiere on Channel 7 in early 2007.
