Chris Corbett knows a thing or two about Australian television. Not only has the Murrumbeena-based screenwriter penned more than 50 hours’ worth, but he’s also dabbled in the spectrum of genres. From police drama (Blue Heelers) to medical drama (All Saints), legal drama (Newton’s Law) to family drama (Neighbours), Corbett, it seems, can write it all.
‘When I was at high school, I had an inkling that I might want to be a writer. I remember going to the careers teacher and sitting down in the very hot portable on that day, and I remember saying to them, “I think I’d like to be a writer”. And just the confusion on the poor woman’s face.’
