Box Office 27 Jan 2019 as Storm Boy floats on choppy waters

A lot of diversity on our screens as the Oscar favourites have been around for a while and smaller films are outlasting them. Also, Aquaman, aka Fishlips.

Storm Boy is on the slither, down to $3000/screen off its 309 screens which is 26% down. Box office over two weeks is $3.364m. However it has survived The Mule and Green Book which arrived for the Australia Day weekend.

Neither of these films lit up the known world. The Mule is an acting and directing vehicle for Clint Eastwood about an ancient drug carrier, which has made around $130m in five weeks in North America off a $70m budget. Overseas amounts so far are tiny. Here it made just under $2m in its first week on 300 screens at $6123/screen, which is pretty fair for such an American vehicle.
