AACTA trips over definition of Australian film

AACTA observers quickly pointed out some cuckoos in the Australian film nest. But the problem is not what it seems.

The battle about arts and Australian identity is visceral and popped up on Twitter when veteran journalist Michael Bodey, backed by producer etc Alice Foulcher and with the interested participation of Palace Films, combined to ask the vital question of AACTA.

Gringo, and Boy Erased have both been nominated for the awards this year. How on earth can they be considered Australian?
