Editor’s note: It is not completely surprising that Anita Brown, commissioning editor for factual in the ABC, responded to the Dreamhouse proposal.

Her television career began in the factual department at LWT/Granada in the UK, and she spent twelve years making shows for ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. before coming here in 2006. The British industry has always been tempted by documentary series with an artificial premise that reveal deeper social truths. And this one had the stability of Artemis behind it, and a premise that opened up the sometimes gutwrenching world of young people with serious disabilities. This is a kind of letter to the documentary sector, as the Dreamhouse series runs towards its climax on the ABC.
