Animals director Sophie Hyde on character, rehearsal and bestie power

What happened when Sophie Hyde and Closer Productions ended up shooting a co-pro in Dublin? And why did the writer have so much fun?

Sophie Hyde, a key part of Closer Productions in Adelaide, took a major step into the conventional industry when she signed on to direct Animals, an Irish-Australian co-production set in Dublin. 

The film launched at Sundance in 2018, followed by an Australian premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival pop-up, with screenings across Australian festivals. The film has just launched into local cinemas.
