A quiet ceremony at the Adelaide Film Studios on Wednesday 17 October 2018 turned out to be a tender reflection on the human story behind the creation of the modern Australian film industry.
After a lot of documents, manoeuvring and a piece of legislation, state premier Don Dunstan and created the South Australian Film Corporation in 1972. It had the right to make feature films and a monopoly of government production, which was supposed to create a profitable production house.
