St Kilda fest off and running

The local affection for the St Kilda Film Festival seems to be increasing year by year. Not just a film fest for audiences it is becoming tribal and transgenerational.

Image: the pop-up cinema, working hard for the next ten days.

Anybody who is snarky about new generations and short films would have been silent and apologetic at the launch of the St Film Festival at the iconic Palais Theatre on 17 May.

The joint was packed and jumping. The renovated interior seems to have more space and the bars heaved like aviaries crammed with coked up budgies. You have to love the moment.
