What is that cute creature flailing around in the corner? Oh look, it’s the Australian film industry. Image: the all-conquering Despicable Me 3.

The connections behind Hounds of Love are saying its only a canine and we kept the investment tight and $175,000 is not too bad for a young animal on the regional circuit. But us big city cineastes are saying the sheer cinematic quality of this should pull more younger people. But six screens and $1848/screen says soon to stop with dreams of a relaunch maybe after the AACTAs. Better yet, if justice prevailed, an ABC release on a Sunday night before Xmas. Won’t happen because Auntie will say it will frighten the Midsomer Murder brigade till they spit their false teeth across the room.
