AACTA 2017 – the battle begins, and it could be ugly

AFI/AACTA has now released the long list of nominated feature film which go into competition for this year. It is a very long list and anyone determined to see the lot will probably think that democracy has gone too far. 

Let’s divide the feature film list into Solid Release, Limited Release, Simmering and Unknown Hopefuls. Then you can ask yourself a question: how many of these films are challenging, or ambitious, or surprising?
