The UK’s culture minister Ed Vaizey announced the major detail of the changes that will come in the wake of the government decision to axe the UK Film Council. The changes lay out a road-map to dissatisfaction. In seasonal spirit, some industry turkeys voted for Christmas, backing changes that could– in many cases – lead to their demise.

The changes mostly affect two aspects of the way film funding is administered and allocated in the UK: the provision of development and production funding for UK-based filmmakers; and the incentive schemes which attract inbound production.
