The UK’s 25% film tax has been given an extension to 2015, in the hope that US productions will continue to flow into the country. Prime Minister David Cameron made the announcement, and he’s not even up for re-election at the moment.

Last year over 200 films benefitted from the scheme, to the tune of GBP95 million (NZ$180 million). The Harry Potter franchise has benefitted most from scheme, which also supported Brighton Rock, Streetdance 3D and Clash of the Titans last year.
