The Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival (NIIFF) closed on Monday, having run for four days. The fifth edition marked a turning point with the amount of international participation and interest in the event reaching critical mass, according to the organisers.

Three NZ films screened as part of the programme, which is organised by Nepal’s Indigenous Film Archive. Kirsty Armstrong’s I Know a Sheila Like That screened on Saturday, Sophie Aroha Johnson’s Makings of a Kaitiaki and Kararaina Rangihau’s Taku Rakau E (The Walking Stick), produced by the late Merata Mita, screened on Monday.
