Y2K-inspired shooter Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is officially set to release for PC on 29 January 2026. The game has been in development for several years at Funny Fintan Softworks, a two-person Australian development studio based in Perth, Western Australia.

What to know about Don’t Stop, Girlypop!

Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is a refreshing take on the first-person shooter genre that invites you into a vividly-coloured, pink-hued world where you must run and gun to survive. The faster you run, the more damage you’ll deal, necessitating rapid movement and quick thinking.

Mastering the game’s hyper-fast gameplay will allow you to become ‘the cupid of death,’ dealing damage in the form of love hearts and a magical glow.

Here’s the official game description: ‘Destroy shareholder value! Mining corp Tigris Nix wants to drain your world of The Love, a natural force keeping your planet alive. Lay waste to its robot drones to heal the Oasis! Kill ‘em with kindness! Every point of damage dealt against a robot is one piece of The Love released back into the environment and one step closer to the end of Tigris Nix.’

For those who love cosy decorating games, you’ll also be able to decorate your guns with various colours, ornaments and patterns, including butterflies, pink chrome, glitter and denim.

The game leans heavily into its Y2K-era inspiration, with visual touches that call to mind the Frutiger Aero art style – the retro-futuristic aesthetic commonly associated with the early internet and Windows machines.

Don’t Stop, Girlypop! a hit at recent Australian game showcases

Over the past few years, Don’t Stop, Girlypop! has been a standout in local Australian game development showcases, with various demos inviting players into its candy-coloured world of frantic shooter gameplay.

At Freeplay: Parallels 2023, developer Jane Fiona Kennington delivered a very memorable talk about the game – then known as Incolatus – and how its evolution over a number of years reflected her gender transition, allowing her to process her feelings, evolving interests and identity.

As you romp through Don’t Stop, Girlypop! you’ll be pulled into an in-your-face, hyper-coloured, girly world where magic, love and femininity fuel a war against an oppressive regime. From what we’ve seen and played so far, it’s a bright, defiant adventure that brims with originality and confident charm.

It’s fantastic to see this game finally heading to launch.

Keep an eye out for Don’t Stop, Girlypop! as releases in January 2026.
