The Big Mountain Short Film Festival programme is out. Festival Director, Bret Gibson, has whittled down this year”s bumper crop of 133 entries from 22 countries into a programme of 19 shorts from 12 countries. The big night will be 26 October down in Ohakune.

Three New Zealand shorts made the cut, Chris Tout’s An Aggressive Gift and 16-year old Seung Woo Hong’s The Silent Chase, both made on $200 budgets. Cheapskate Doug Brooks spent $40 on Space Junk, but it was money well-spent, as he’ll be presented with Best Emerging Director Award at the event.
