The Six One Indie Showcase will officially return on 21 May with a blockbuster livestream featuring a whopping 61 games over a 93 minute runtime. If you’re looking to bulk out your wishlist, or just to see everything cool, new, and original arriving to the world of gaming in future, it should be worth tuning in for.

Established in 2022, the Six One Indie Showcase has become well-known for featuring a lovingly curated blend of wild, fun, creative, and often under-the-radar games, all of which present novel ideas and gameplay.

We expect the latest showcase will be no different: a bright spark for those looking to be inspired by the next generation of indie games.

What to expect of the Six One Indie Showcase in May

The Six One Indie Showcase, and the preceding Petey’s Play Now Pre-Show, will spotlight innovation across the board. The pre-show will focus on five recently released but somewhat overlooked indie games, while the main show will speed through the remaining 56 titles with new trailers, first looks, development updates, release date announcements, and more.

As for what sort of games to expect, the team has confirmed the lineup includes survival horrors, roguelikes and cosy gems, as well as showcase blocks featuring ‘overlooked genres’.

Since the showcase was announced, an array of game developers have popped in to confirm they’ll appear. Based on these declarations, the Six One Indie Showcase will feature new looks at Aikyam by
Thousand Stars Studio Inc, Fraymakers by Team Fray and McLeodGaming (a new character reveal), Deep Pixel Melancholy by ok/no, Mouseward by Finite Reflection Studios, Walk The Frog by Walk the Frog, lunr.rdio.taxi by Soin and Talbone, Ourlands by GrahamOfLegend, Twins of Olus by Team Verdant and more.

Beyond these, there’ll be plenty of other developers showcasing their works, making the presentation a smorgasbord of cool upcoming projects.

Summer Game Fest returns in June, with a curated selection of showcases that will reveal what’s next for the future of gaming. As always, the headliner of the season is the Geoff Keighley-hosted Summer Game Fest show, which tends to feature AAA blockbusters and big reveals, but there are also a range of other smaller – but no less exciting – presentations taking place throughout the festival.
