The Sims 4 is getting two new expansion kit packs introducing fashion from iconic films Clueless and Mean Girls. The announcement follows a SpongeBob SquarePants crossover, and will deliver a major DLC along with downloadable outfits to celebrate the two films’ individual legacies throughout the life cycle of the game.

Clueless Capsule Kit lets you dress as Cher, Dionne and Tai
Taking on a classic of modern cinema, the Sims 4 Clueless Capsule Kit features the key outfits of fashionistas Cher, Dionne and Tai. That includes plaid mini-skirts, the iconic yellow plaid blazer outfit, preppy shoes, pants and accessories.
The announcement from EA and Maxis said: ‘From Cher’s iconic plaid set to effortlessly chic everyday looks, every outfit makes a statement. After all, nothing says confidence like coordinating with your inner circle.
‘As if your Sim’s wardrobe could get any more fabulous! Layered tops, button-front skirts, workout wear and Tai-inspired overalls make it easy to mix, match and create standout looks, whether your Sim is “rollin’ with the homies” or flying solo.’
Mean Girls Capsule Kit lets you dress as Cady, Regina, Gretchen and Karen

The Sims 4 Mean Girls Capsule Kit introduces the recognisable outfits of the core ‘Plastics’ trio of Regina, Gretch and Karen, as well as Cady Heron’s red sweater and jeans outfit.
As pictured, the kit includes new cardigans, mini-skirts, jeans, a sweater and heels.
The kit’s description reads: ‘The limit does not exist with all the ways Sims can mix and match styles. Whether they’re strutting the halls in miniskirts and matching sweaters, getting ready for a rockin’ jingle bell performance with a festive matching hat, repping the Mathletes with the signature team jackets or showing everyone they’re a COOL mom in a velour track suit, these looks offer countless ways to prove your Sim is the talk of North Shore High.
‘You go, Glenn Coco! The Mean Girls Capsule Kit also brings stunning swatches to create a variety of looks, even if they don’t even go here. We’re sorry if anyone gets jealous of your Sim, but they can’t help being popular.’
What’s next for The Sims 4
As players will note, recent kits have leaned more towards promotional cross-brand efforts in recent months, with some reliance on nostalgia to keep players engaged. As far solid new gameplay DLC or game packs, it does appear we’ve reached the end of the life cycle for The Sims 4 for now.
The last big DLC kit for the game was Royalty & Legacy and this arrived way back in February 2026.
It feels more than likely The Sims 4 is in standby mode, with smaller new kits planned to keep it fresh. For now, we await more news on the game, and whether EA and Maxis have bigger plans for it in future.

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy expansion pack presents a compelling premise: what if royals existed in the world of The Sims, and their status elevated them to the upper realms of society? It’s a pack about power and jealousy, and how your Sims navigate a world of high stakes, where a single foot wrong may cause a scandal, and the worst thing on earth is judgement by your peers.
