Marvel Rivals is set for its biggest season yet.

Marvel Rivals‘ sixth season is on the cusp of launch, with this promising to be the most enticing chapter for the multiplayer shooter yet. The big, headlining feature of the latest season is the arrival of fan-favourite anti-hero Deadpool, who joins an ever-growing roster of heroes, adding sword-based melee and gunplay skills to matches.

But there is also another major draw this season: the arrival of several new, very good-looking Battle Pass skins.

I’m not usually one for fawning over skins in video games – but the array of new inclusions in the latest Marvel Rivals season are worth noting. While a disco-inspired version of the Invisible Woman is pictured front and centre, you’ll want to look on either side to see the real headliners.

On the left, you can spot a Winter Soldier skin that replicates Bucky’s original uniform, when he was Captain America’s sidekick, and featured in the All-Winners Squad (as well as the Young Allies). While the outfit usually looks goofy, the Marvel Rivals team has done a solid job of making it a bit more stylish and fitted, with added flair.

The second skin you should be looking at is the Ultimate Wolverine skin, adapted from the Marvel comics of the same name. Ultimate Wolverine is a relatively new arrival to comics canon, but his latest adventures are fantastic, and well worth a read.

Looking to the rest of the lineup, there’s even more excellent, unlockable skins here – from a comics-accurate Black Panther suit complete with cape, to one of Storm’s iconic, queenly looks. Blade also gets a skin inspired by the 1980s, Mantis gets a bright-coloured warrior’s suit, and Moon Knight gets a very neat, almost Greek-inspired outfit, complete with a moon crown.

I’m less enamoured by the new Venom skin, which features Eddie Brock poking out of the Venom suit in a way that almost makes him look like Okarun from Dan Da Dan, and Star-Lord is never on my radar – but in all, this is a fantastic lineup, and one that feels likely to interest players of all kinds.

What else is coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 6

Elsewhere, Marvel Rivals Season 6 presents other reasons to dive in. Beyond new skins, there’s an adorable set of new accessories, featuring chibi versions of popular characters.

There’s also a new museum map, new photo mode options, a new season event – Whac-A-Jeff – starring Jeff the Land Shark, and a bundle of other mini-games on the way.

As always, there’s also various tweaks for gameplay planned, with adjustments for Thor, Magneto, Punisher, Doctor Strange, Angela, Captain America, Emma Frost, Hulk, Blade, Black Panther, and more announced. You can see the full extent of these tweaks on the latest Marvel Rivals balance post.

Eventually, Season 6 will also host the arrival of monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone, who joins the game in the footsteps of Deadpool. For now, Elsa’s launch date hasn’t been announced – but it feels likely she’ll arrive in the second part of Season 6, which launches on 13 February, so stay tuned.

In all, it looks mightily like Marvel Rivals is heating up, with plenty of new characters and costumes to provide that temptation to dive in, or to return once more.
