The Casey Philharmonic Orchestra has announced a special Melbourne International Games Week 2026 show, featuring performances of video game music from titles including Final Fantasy, Hollow Knight, Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda, Undertale, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, Super Smash Bros. and more.
Level Up! Orchestral Game Music will spotlight the magic of video game music with ‘immersive scores’ performed throughout the evening of 10 October at Bunjil Place Theatre.
‘From fantastical worlds and wild adventures, to boss fights and title screens: the world of video games would not be the same without the amazing music accompanying every key moment,’ the team says.
‘No longer limited by the technologies behind early video game consoles, the gaming industry has been transformed by the ability to underscore their games with full orchestral soundtracks. It has quickly become one of the fastest-growing industries in composition, attracting top composers from around the world!’

What to know about Level Up! Orchestral Game Music
The Level Up! Orchestral Game Music follows in the footsteps of Wizards & Dragons, a major show put on by the Casey Philharmonic Orchestra spotlighting fantasy tunes from franchises including The Lord of the Rings, How to Train Your Dragon, Genshin Impact, Jurassic Park and more.
The orchestra, formed in 2017, aims to provide ‘local professionals and aspiring amateurs opportunities to practise and further develop their art’ with performances inspired by personal interests and artful curation. The MIGW show, appropriately, will be inspired by the vastness of the gaming world, with performers looking to share their love with local audiences.
While the Bunjil Place Theatre is a bit out of Melbourne, there is a PAX Aus bus ride ticket option for those looking to journey from the show floor to the performance.
You can learn more about the show and purchase tickets on the Casey Philharmonic Orchestra website.
