Australian-made game Go-Go Town! from Brisbane-based studio Prideful Sloth has officially sold 100,000 copies.
The game also reportedly topped the Steam New Releases charts for its 1.0 launch in July, and took the #1 and #2 spots on the Nintendo Switch Japanese, United Kingdom and United States sales charts in this period.
As a thank you to avid players, Prideful Sloth has announced that Go-Go Town! will get a ‘slew’ of new content, on top of new features already announced as part of the game’s roadmap.

Prideful Sloth ‘incredibly grateful’ for player support

‘Seeing our game succeed at a time when the industry is going through such a challenging period makes us feel incredibly grateful,’ said Go-Go Town! Creative Director Cheryl Vance. ‘We’re very aware of how fortunate we are to be in this position.’
Vance pointed to the support of ‘our amazing Early Access community, who spent two years with us making Go-Go Town! the game that it is’.
With the help of these players, ‘we were able to successfully launch V1.0 on PC and on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and welcome in a new cohort of Mayors who are experiencing what we built with our community, for the first time,’ she said.
‘It’s also been wonderful to see audiences we haven’t traditionally reached in such numbers really embracing the game, with Thailand now our second biggest market!’
Vance added, ‘That kind of support, and the success it has brought, means we can keep working on Go-Go Town! while remaining independent and looking ahead to what we might create next.’
‘We feel incredibly lucky to be heading into 2027 with such a fantastic community behind us. So, as always, thank you to everyone who has given Go-Go Town! so much love. We hope the new content goes some way towards showing just how much we appreciate it.’
All the new content coming to Go-Go Town!
Per Prideful Sloth’s announcement, new content planned for release includes ‘new arches, barriers, lamp posts, a brand new Vehicle Stall, a Gas Pump, Hay Bales’ and more, all of which are designed to enhance and streamline building in Go-Go Town!‘
The game will also get new six languages by popular request: Polish, Turkish, Russian, Italian, Dutch and Indonesian.
The game is a city-building simulator with an overarching narrative. You arrive as the new mayor of a regional town, only to find it really needs fixing. With a relatively blank canvas to work within, you’ll spend your time establishing a variety of shops for tourists, as well as planning whole neighbourhoods to attract local residents, transport routes, and plenty of other other essential town features.
Go-Go Town! plays fast and loose with ideas of reality, as you’ll be creating your fantasy town while also dealing with the arrival of strange alien beings and other goofy sights.
As Prideful Sloth says, ‘Watch your town grow and blossom, then keep it running when things get busy, messy, or go wonderfully sideways.’
Per the previously announced roadmap, the game is also set to get an array of other downloadable content in future updates, including quality of life improvements, updates to the Tech Tree, a photo mode, a new tutorial flow, vehicle customisation, and possible new console versions.
