Frosty Games Fest 2026 presented a raft of new, exciting Australian and New Zealand-made games, with some getting new trailers, others getting release dates or release windows, and even more getting first-time reveals to the public.

It was a fantastic show that revealed the talent and ambition of local Australian and New Zealand-based game developers, showing a real diversity in game genres, narratives, art styles and approaches. It’s no longer a secret that developers in both regions are creating some of the most interesting and compelling indie games in the world, and Frosty Games Fest 2026 doubled down on that fact.

A Pocket Full of Slagford

SLUMPS’ A Pocket Full of Slagford got its grand reveal during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This is a ‘silly puzzle adventure’ which sees players journeying through a Northern city that’s ‘coming apart at the seams’. You’ll need to figuratively and literally pick up pieces of this world, and put it back together, to advance.

Acting Out

JWT Production’s Acting Out, an online co-op game where you and your friends film movie scenes, got an early access release window of July 2026 during Frosty Games Fest. When the game launches, you can expect a wild time attempting to hit your marks and deliver award-winning performances on the fly.

Akashic Slingshot

Akashic Slingshot, from developer Jayden Everest, also got a release announcement during the show. This side-scrolling adventure game sees you harnessing the power of a slingshot to take down unique enemies and fight your way to victory.

Akashic Slingshot will release on 3 December.

Allogloom

Galactic Ghosty’s Allogloom was another game that got a release date during Frosty Games Fest 2026. It’ll release on 24 September, at which point players will be invited into its macabre and gloomy world to solve a variety of gothic point-and-click puzzles.

Apathema

Sammy Makes Games’ Apathema, a ‘grunge fantasy’ turn-based RPG inspired by God Husk, Baroque and King’s Field, had its first public demo announced during the show. If you’re keen to ‘end a self-devouring cycle of Apathy’ you can now pop in via Steam.

Apathema does not currently have a release date.

Apothecurse

Lesser Key Studios’ Apothecurse also got its first demo announcement during Frosty Games Fest, with this available now on Steam. As for what to expect, Apothecurse follows a fledgling alchemist who must ‘brave the seas’ and travel to Port Gelour, ‘a plague-ridden city on the brink of revolution’.

Apothecurse does not currently have a release date.

Atlanta TD

Atlanta TD, the next title from Tin Man Games, got an early access release window announcement during the show. Players will be able to check in from December 2026, to realise their dreams of defending the Four Spectacular Realms from the encroachment of armies from the Underworld.

Attack of the Astrals

Hewer’s Workshop’s Attack of the Astrals got an exclusive gameplay trailer. In this turn-based strategy roguelike, you’ll be experiencing battles as ‘tactical puzzles’ where every move counts. With cascading attacks, you’ll need to plan well to defeat ‘a cosmic army that grows stronger as you do’.

Bashful Adoration

KittyWampus’ Bashful Adoration also got an exclusive gameplay trailer. This upcoming 3D platformer stars four highly-competitive witches who’re all in love with the same person. Across the story, you’ll use ‘bombastic combat and expressive movement mechanics’ to play through this unravelling tale.

Bashful Adoration does not currently have a release date.

BLIGHTEN

Survival horror BLIGHTEN, from studio Blight Software, also got an exclusive gameplay trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This game is a horror FPS adventure set in an abandoned and horrific facility plagued by mindless, infected creatures. It certainly won’t be for the faint-hearted.

BLIGHTEN is currently set for release in 2026.

Box Knight

We Made A Thing Studios’ Box Knight got a trailer revealing new content during Frosty Games Fest 2026. In future, this office brawler will offer a chance to dress up in costumes based on Australian animals, from platypus to koalas and crocodiles.

Box Knight does not currently have a release date.

Bravest Coconut

Little Nebula’s Bravest Coconut got a release date of 10 July during the show. This upcoming story-rich puzzle adventure follows a young hero facing off with monsters, mysteries and a valley full of secrets during a quest to return a library book.

Canvas City

Disc 2 Games’ Canvas City got an exclusive gameplay trailer. This upcoming turn-based strategy RPG follows a group of roller-skating rebels as they rise up against an oppressive regime in an urban city. Players will battle across multiple locales, with each action shifting control and ‘shaping the city’s future’.

Canvas City does not currently have a release date.

Cloudlings

Colony sim Cloudlings, from Middle Space, got its premiere reveal trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This upcoming survival-focused game tasks you with controlling a floating island, where tiny Clouding residents live. To ensure the best life for them, you must gather resources and grow your kingdom, while also keeping it safe from outside forces.

Cloudlings does not currently have a release date.

Cooking For MA!

Tuatara Tea Party’s Cooking for MA! also got its premiere reveal trailer during the show. This is a story-rich cooking simulator where you ‘go on an adventure through the spirit world to save your grandma from an evil serpent using the power of cooking!’

Cow Chess

Cow Chess, from lablab, got a new gameplay trailer revealing more of its 2D platformer action gameplay. This is a very neat-looking puzzle game that combines competitive gameplay elements of Worms with Super Smash Bros. for a very wild time.

Cozy Game Restoration

Parasol Corp’s Cozy Game Restoration got a new trailer in Frosty Games Fest 2026 confirming it will launch on 24 September. In this ‘soothing’ simulator, you’ll gently bring forgotten video game cartridges back to life by tearing wrapping away, peeling off old stickers and cleaning grime.

Doomsday Diner

Space Rock Games’ Doomsday Diner got a release date announcement. This stylish post-apocalyptic cooking sim introduces a world ‘where hot dogs are cheap and life is cheaper’. It will launch on 23 July.

DWARRF: A Pinball Roguelike

YETIBYTES’ DWARRF: A Pinball Roguelike, which is a deck-building physics roguelike that is a blend of ‘pinball, pachinko and bubble shooter’, also got a release date announcement. This wild and high-energy shooter launches on 21 August.

Echo Zero

Wildboy Studios’ Echo Zero, a tower defence rogue-lite, got its premiere reveal at Frosty Games Fest 2026. In this game, players create powerful bases and defend them against various forces in a ‘dangerous’ sci-fi underworld.

Echo Zero does not currently have a release date.

Edwin Earstwhile: Medical Examiner

Callum Page’s Edwin Earstwhile: Medical Examiner got its premiere reveal trailer during the show. This is a detective game about ‘getting to the bottom of a series of grisly murders by examining meticulously hand-animated cadavers’.

Edwin Earstwhile: Medical Examiner does not currently have a release date.

Fishing Echoes

DuoBonza’s Fishing Echoes got a first demo announcement. This is a collectathon RPG where players will set sail on a mystical fishing journey where ‘fish fight back with elemental magic’. Players will need to battle all sorts of critters in this journey, including fire-breathing leviathans.

Fishing Echoes is set to release in 2026.

Freeline

Freeline, from piers.zip, got its premiere reveal trailer. This game is a speed-running parkour platformer that follows a young cat ‘on a mission to reclaim the rooftops’ from a corporate surveillance state. Expect this one to be an adrenaline rush of action.

Ghost Writer

Ghost Writer from Lemon Jolly Games also got a grand reveal during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This idle game sends you writing prompts via desktop, with the help of an ‘overworked little ghost’.

Ghost Writer does not currently have a release date.

HAWKER

Tyrian Games’ HAWKER, a roguelite action RPG, got a new gameplay trailer. This game is a hybrid action-RPG and shopkeeper game where players must ‘pay or evade a debt to Death in a procedurally-generated grimdark world’.

HYPER PRIMATE

Totem Softproducts’ HYPER PRIMATE is a parkour platformer that sends players on dangerous speed-runs through deadly obstacle courses. During Frosty Gamest Fest 2026, it was confirmed that this game will release on 17 July.

Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch)

Fuzzy Ghost’s long-anticipated Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch) got a surprise first demo announcement during Frosty Games Fest 2026. After years in development, players can now jump in via Steam to experience a horror tale about being a renter to an strange witch whose apartment is evil.

KUU

Interactive Tragedy’s KUU, a story-rich management game set in a sci-fi world, got a new gameplay trailer. In KUU, you will be ‘forced to make impossible choices while you survive for 30 nights on the moon’.

L8R SK8R

Busalonium’s L8R SK8R is a 3D platformer with a ‘collect-a-speedrun’ twist that evokes a sense of realism in its highly stylised, fast-paced runs. As announced during Frosty Games Fest 2026, L8R SK8R is set to release on 28 August.

Lone Pine

Bang Bang Bang Interactive’s Lone Pine is a point-and-click adventure game that features a young woman exploring a fictional national park in search of mysterious and strange cryptids – magical creatures found in modern myths and legends. During Frosty Games Fest 2026, the game got a brand new gameplay trailer.

Management In Space

Silver Stitch Productions’ Management In Space is a strategy management roguelite where you find yourself in debt. To pay it off, you’ll need to ‘build, mind, trade, date and defend’ in situations across a sci-fi galaxy, while war plays in the background of your adventures.

Mingle

Cookiecrayon’s Mingle is a hidden object puzzle game about finding your perfect match. During Frosty Games Fest 2026, it got a confirmed release window – Q4 2026 – as well as a new look at its cosy, match-making gameplay.

n00b’s guide

Just4Friends’s n00b’s guide got a premiere reveal during the show. This is a story-rich walking simulator retrospective that focuses on a 30-year-old’s experience in life, through the lens of her old pre-teen YouTube video playlist. It’s designed to be ‘funny, introspective and painfully earnest’.

n00b’s guide does not currently have a release date.

Night Shift: 1999

Winter Schloss Studios’ Night Shift: 1999 got a release window announcement during Frosty Games Fest 2026, for Q3 of this year. In this visual novel, you will ‘balance work, vampirism and socialising as you explore Kings Cross, Sydney during the last year of the millennium.’

Penguin Colony

ORIGAME Digital’s Penguin Colony got a new gameplay and making-of trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This is a cosmic horror game seen through the eyes of a penguin. You really need the full description to get a sense of how unique this game is:

‘Rival human factions have come to your home in the Antarctic, seeking an ancient and inconceivable being. Observe their descent into insanity in this faithful re-imagining of HP Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness, and other stories.’

Unseconds’ PUTRID/SHARP got its premiere reveal trailer. This horror romance is about ‘rot, love and not being able to get things back’. You will help protagonist Ode ‘carve his way through the stages of decomposition’ to try to save someone, as the world ‘waits to end’.

Radio Decay

Rare Parrot Games’ Radio Decay also got its reveal trailer during the show. This action horror co-op game tasks players with rebuilding their decaying body with prosthetic limbs to safely extract bounties of riches in competitive play.

Rusthaven

Rusthaven, from Chaos Theory Games, is a solarpunk management game where you reboot the world in the ‘anti-apocalypse’. Rather than being doom and gloom, this game goes for a more hopeful and bright-eyed tone.

Shape Sender Deluxe

Shape Sender Deluxe from Dead Teapot got a new trailer confirming an updated demo is now available on Steam. This is a puzzle sandbox simulator game where you solve a variety of spatial challenges using magnets, springs, portals, fans and other unique tools, all while being taunted by an odd little mascot.

Slayblade

Henry’s House’ Slayblade got a surprise first demo during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This is a physics roguelite inspired by anime, where players will build their own special battle-tops and compete to become King of the Streets.

Snickerdoodle Games & Funk Games’ Sludgineers got a confirmed release date of 25 August. This idle clicker simulation game is all about cleaning, mining and refining pollution in a remote countryside.

Sting & Swing

MrCheeseAndPie’s Sting & Swing got a new gameplay trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This ‘collectathon puzzle metroidvania’ invites players to explore a strange overgrown world as a bee wielding a golf ball and club.

Straycloud

Beast Dance’s Straycloud got a premiere reveal trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026. This upcoming game is a story-rich adventure where you explore a strange land that was once airborne. As the youngest member of its inhabitants, you are tasked with restoring power to the ancient magical technology that was meant to keep it afloat.

The Isle of Lost Bees

The Isle of Lost Bees, from developer Triple Bee Games, seems like a fantastic companion to Sting & Swing. In this game, you’ll cultivate a growing collection of Australian native bees, while also uncovering secrets on a mysterious island.

The Troll & The Witch’s House

Little Bandit’s The Troll & The Witch’s House got a brand new gameplay trailer. This point-and-click adventure puzzle game is set in ‘a strange house filled with mysteries’. To solve all its riddles, you’ll need to ‘piece together fragments of the past’ and ‘uncover secrets’.

Toil&Trubble

Toil&Trubble, from Disparity Games, got its major premiere reveal trailer at Frosty Games Fest 2026. This upcoming game is a life simulator adventure that follows a young witch and her piglet as they make potions to keep their local villagers happy.

The RnD Department’s TOYA is a cosy puzzle game where you guide a cube through various abstract levels, reminiscent of classics like Kula World. At Frosty Games Fest 2026, the game got a brand new trailer featuring new puzzles and mechanics.

Verbal Void

EnderLost Studios’ Verbal Void got an exclusive new gameplay trailer during Frosty Games Fest 2026, revealing more of its narrative. In this ‘conversation-beat-em-up’ game, you’ll explore the lives of three neurodiverse kids who wander a forgotten island community while facing all sorts of puzzles.

Wild n Chill

From developer Wombat Brawler, Wild n Chill is a an exciting sequel to popular relaxing fishing game Cast n Chill. As described, this is a ‘laid-back wilderness survival sandbox’ where you’ll hunt and forage, while also working on your ideal off-grid cabin.
