As Sundance heads into its final weekend, there’s been lots of love spread around but little cash. Before the festival opened its doors, pundits were declaring it “a seller’s market”, which demonstrates the dangers of trying to predict the future. A week after Sundance opened it doors, few high-profile sales have been announced.

Key antipodean headline in the genre business is the limited but very welcome European sale of The Babadook to the tres respected Wild Bunch, which took the rights for France, Germany and Switzerland.
