Signs of a slight thawing were seen, pointing to the possibility that the years-long freeze of the recession-ridden market may just come to an end. Television executives began to spend, although cautiously, seasoned MIP-regular observed.

A month from now the Palais will be buzzing with the critical deliberations on the film festival’s opening night movie, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. But for now, content creators and acquisition executives were appraising each other’s willingness to buy and spend.
