Dr Patricia Edgar has been a force of nature in the development of children’s television in Australia, even before she led the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. She initiated the World Summit on Media for Children conferences and foundation which went public in 1993, and remains the chair of the foundation.

She is promoting the next Summit, to occur in in Kuala Lumpur on 8-10 September, for which registrations have now opened. As she said in an email, it may seem a long way away, but she is keen “to allow producers and others who may wish to attend time to apply for funds and make plans. “
