Berlin 2018 – Australia gets a toehold

Australians do well at Berlin, and the first two names have been confirmed, with more to come. Unless something has gone dreadfully wrong.

With an almost empty Sundance, a good turnout at Berlin would be a great start to the year for the Australian festival contingent.  

Gurrumul, directed by Paul Williams, will break into the international circuit after screenings at the Adelaide, Melbourne and Darwin film festivals, and the Perth Festival between 12-25 February. It will be part of the Berlinale Special at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, which is an indigenous section.
