Trespasses ā€“ 4 February

Series. This intoxicating, four-episode romantic drama tells the story of Cushla (Lola Petticrew), a young Catholic schoolteacher whose life in 1975 Northern Ireland is shadowed by the Troubles.

Amid curfews, bombings and betrayals, she works nights in her family’s pub, serving both sides and British soldiers, when she meets and falls for Michael (Tom Cullen) – an older, married Protestant barrister.

Their affair is intoxicating and dangerous. Cushla’s world is full of defiant spirits: her drunk, sharp-tongued mother Gina (Gillian Anderson), her lively pupils, and beloved colleague Gerry (OisĆ­n Thompson). But as the forbidden love between Cushla and Michael deepens, violence looms and tensions rise. Cushla will be pulled between duty and desire, and family and freedom.

Pay a tax, get it refunded twice and claim it’s legal: that’s a Cum-Ex deal. A young lawyer and his boss expand this scheme to private investors in Germany, developing a global network of banks, lawyers and investors that steal billions from European citizens. In Denmark, tax officials Inger BrĆøgger and Niels Jensen watch helplessly as state funds vanish, with little support from bankers or politicians.

When Niels faces financial struggles and personal pressures, he loses his moral compass and joins the scheme. In Germany, a District Attorney uncovers the massive fraud and faces fierce resistance from banks and politicians. Determined to prevent the usual outcome – where minor players are caught while the masterminds walk free – she fights tirelessly to bring those truly responsible to justice.

Inside The Tower Of London Season 7 – 9 February

Docuseries. It’s 2024, a year on from the coronation of King Charles, and it’s all change at the Tower. New Chief Yeoman Warder Rob Fuller and Yeoman Gaoler Clive Towell get used to their new jobs as the fortress prepares for its most action-packed event in years, including the celebration of the anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The Tower also gets a brand new Ravenmaster, while Debbie Whittingham prepares to retire as the Tower’s first female Deputy Governor. Historic Royal Palaces Chief Curator Tracy Borman investigates some memorable tower history including the extraordinary story of the missing head of Sir Walter Raleigh.

This Tastes Funny ā€“ 10 February

Reality series. In This Tastes Funny, American comedian Iliza Shlesinger and her chef husband Noah Galuten are travelling the length of New Zealand – one stop before the middle of nowhere.

Confined to a small motorhome and with only each other for company, they are here to discover the sights, tastes and – weirdly – smells that this country has to offer. All in preparation for Iliza’s first New Zealand comedy show, because – if you’re going to make fun of an entire country, you must first understand every gritty detail.

Rise of the Raven ā€“ 12 February

Series. This 10-episode mini-series set in the 15th century is based on the bestselling Hungarian novels by Mór BÔn. The story of Janos Hunyadi (Gellért L KÔdÔr) is the epic tale of a modest hero who against all odds, vanquished the much larger Ottoman army and halted its drive to conquer the Vatican and overrun Western Europe. In so doing, Hunyadi not only shaped the history of Hungary, but all of Europe.

With a visually-striking contemporary approach, the series chronicles Hunyadi’s lifelong struggle against the ever-expanding Ottoman Empire as well as his enemies at home. It all culminates in Hunyadi’s climactic victory against seemingly insurmountable odds when he defeats the invading Ottoman army at the siege of Nandorfehervar (contemporary Belgrade), a triumph that forever altered the fate of Europe.

The series is produced by Robert Lantos and directed by Academy Award nominated director Robert Dornhelm, with Orsi NagypƔl, Attila SzƔsz and showrunner BalƔzs Lengyel.

Series. After seven hilarious seasons, Joseph Gilgun’s rowdy gang gets an unmissable send-off, as Vinnie and the crew face their biggest challenge yet. When a new gang muscles in on his turf, Vinnie (Joseph Gilgun) reunites the crew, takes on a classic Bishops job, and reminds Hawley who’s boss.

Mrs Bishop is getting married, and nothing will get in the way of her perfect day – except for Mr Bishop. Vinnie is trying to lay low, until a new gang headed up by Farmer Jim’s estranged daughter starts stepping on his toes. Vinnie reunites the crew to deal with The Bishops and prove who really runs Hawley.

Series. Based on the New York Times best-selling book written by Ben Macintyre, this six-episode series dramatises the true story of Nicholas Elliott (Damian Lewis) and Kim Philby (Guy Pearce), two British spies and lifelong friends.

Philby was the most notorious British defector and Soviet double agent in history. This is a story of intimate duplicity; of loyalty, trust and treachery. Philby’s deeply personal betrayal, uncovered at the height of the Cold War, resulted in the gutting of British and American Intelligence.
