MediaWorks: goes toe-to-toe with TVNZ

Following this morning’s 2011 launch in Wellington, MediaWorks today gave everybody a heads-up of what’s coming – not in programming terms but in a change of preferred demographics for TV3 and C4. C4 will relaunch as FOUR, shifting its demographic from 15-39 to 18-49, the same target audience TV2 goes after; TV3 will “evolve” towards TV One’s 25-54 demographic from its present 18-49 target.

Announcing the changes in a media release this morning, Mediaworks said, “the FOUR change will be immediate, commencing early in 2011, the TV3 adjustment will take place over time, as it is a more subtle adjustment.”
