Gibson Group’s co-production with Australia’s Rock Island Pictures (Goalpost Pictures), Panic at Rock Island, is already heading for offshore markets. The telemovie started shooting this week in Sydney with a cast including Grant Bowler (True Blood, Ugly Betty, Outrageous Fortune), Simone Kessell (Stickmen, Underbelly: A Tale Of Two Cities) and Anna Hutchison (Go Girls), as well as Smashproof and Gin Wigmore.
The project picked up $335,000 in the latest NZ On Air funding round, adding to the A$220,000 it picked up earlier from Screen NSW as well as Screen Australia funding and cash from Australia’s Channel Nine, which will screen it there. It will screen here on TV2.
