Box Office 15 April 2019 – kids’s film overwhelm the multiplexes again

Despite the patter of tiny feet and herds of feral tots, Hotel Mumbai, Us, Green Book and Woman at War bring a bit of dignity to the choc top queue.

Yes, it is holiday time again. Wonder Park revels in its visual cliches in this poster for the film 

Hotel Mumbai has now made $11.2m in the US market, almost all after going wide three weekends ago on 924 screens. It has been sliding away and is probably close to dead, down to around $1700/location.

In Australia, Hotel Mumbai has now descended to an average of $382 off its 217 screens, though it added $83,000 to creep over $3m. It now had $3.1m after five weeks. Factors like much better exhibitor support mean that this film starring a famed Indian actor and set in Mumbai has done much better here.
