Screen Australia and consultancy firm Olsberg SPI have released a new Production Infrastructure and Capacity Analysis report for the Australian screen industry, identifying challenges and opportunities facing workers in the sector in 2026 and beyond.
Training optimisation was another suggestion to address identified skills gaps, including a lack of 2D and 3D animators. As outlined by the study, the prevailing belief is that current education courses may be ‘out of step’ with the industry standards, teaching older techniques, software or tools that are no longer used.
