SUBSCRIPTION TV SCORES A RECORD 12 TV WEEK LOGIE
AWARD NOMINATIONS AND DOMINATES OUTSTANDING DRAMA CATEGORIES SKY NEWS RECEIVES FIRST EVER NOMINATION FOR 2007 ELECTION COVERAGE

The Australian television industry today acknowledged subscription television’s
flourishing contribution to Australian drama with a record number of TV Week Logie
Award nominations.
The subscription television (STV) industry received a record twelve nominations for
the TV Week Logie Awards announced this morning, nine of which recognise the
platform’s outstanding achievements in Drama.
SHOWTIME Australia dominated the peer voted drama categories with four of five
of the nominations for Most Outstanding Actress including Diana Glenn
(Satisfaction) and Alison Whyte (Satisfaction) for new channel SHOWCASE, and
Claudia Karvan (Love My Way) and Asher Keddie (Love My Way) for
SHOWTIME.
Additionally, Satisfaction (SHOWCASE) was nominated for Most Outstanding
Drama Series, Miniseries or Telemovie and Adelaide Clemens (Love My Way,
SHOWTIME) was nominated in the Graham Kennedy Award for Most
Outstanding New Talent.
TV1 received two nominations for its critically acclaimed bio-pic on television legend
Graham Kennedy, with The King securing nominations for Most Outstanding
Drama Series, Miniseries or Telemovie as well as Stephen Curry for his portrayal
of Kennedy in the Most Outstanding Actor category.
Nicole Da Silva was also nominated for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most
Outstanding New Talent for her role in FOX8’s edgy drama series Dangerous.
SKY NEWS received its first ever TV Week Logie Award nomination for Most
Outstanding News Coverage of the 2007 Federal Election, led by its political team
of David Speers, Kieran Gilbert, Ashleigh Gillon and Helen Dalley producing an
unprecedented level of quality programming across the 6 week election campaign.
LifeStyle FOOD Channel also received their first TV Week Logie Award nomination
with Stuart MacGill in the Most Popular New Male Talent category for Stuart
MacGill Uncorked.
FOX SPORTS 1 also received a nomination for ‘Inside Cricket’ in the category of
Most Popular Sports Program.
