In an Australian first, Atlab Image and Sound Technology (AI&ST) has integrated the first Dolby Digital Cinema playback system and Christie CP2K D Cinema projector into a commercial cinema space.

The installation confirms that Digital Cinema has arrived “down under”. Brisbane exhibitor Leo Catalano, who operates fourteen screens throughout the metropolitan area, has always been a keen adopter of new technology to ensure the highest possible quality is provided to his customers. The hardware has been installed at Hawthorne Cinemas in Catalano’s largest auditorium at this site.
