The Australian Centre for the Moving Image is proud to present the First Person: International Digital Storytelling Conference, the first Digital Storytelling conference to be held in Australia (and only the second in the world), which will be held Friday 3 – Sunday 5 February, 2005 at ACMI.

What is Digital Storytelling? Originating in the USA over 10 years ago, Digital Storytelling updates this age-old tradition of storytelling for the contemporary world. Rather than simply recounting a story verbally, Digital Storytelling is a process whereby people have the opportunity – using simple multimedia tools – to tell their own story through making a movie. Participants use their voice as narrative and combine the audio visual resources of their personal archives (photographs, home movies, text, music and sound) to produce personal story.
