Box Office 3 June 2019 – Top End grifts as Elton John beats Godzilla

Around the world Godzilla beats Rocketman, but not here. We like our movies tuneful. Top End Wedding is trudging towards $4m but goes in hope.

Godzilla enraged by Australian audience response. Image: IMDB.

Top End Wedding took a 60 screen and 49% dive this last weekend down to $1020/screen from $1275. So it was dying anyway. The take dropped from $325,000 to $165,250. So it is still $270,000 short of $4m.

We can’t predict next weekend because rural cinema results bounce around late in the run. But we are still ultimately expecting the  $4m.
