Troy Kinne: sketch comedy

Troy found a very roundabout way of getting his show on air. He commented that “Sometimes a negative can turn into a positive. I did a pilot for Channel Seven about five or six years ago now with Dave Thornton, Tom Siegert and Monty Franklin. It was a sketch comedy show as well, callEl Cheapo. All signs were looking good for it going ahead and in the week we handed ours in, Channel Seven also bought Thank God You’re Here and then decided their comedy quotient was full. We did a couple of other things for Seven. There was a pilot for a travel show, which is still an idea that’s kicking around.”

At that point, Troy started writing his own things, including creating videos for online distribution and doing standup.
