Applications are open for 37°South Market, MIFF’s global screen content marketplace and Australia’s only screen content co-financing market to occur in the context of a major festival.

37°South’s core offering is a selective four-day event of individually curated meetings for screen producers to pitch their script-stage projects to potential financiers. The market also includes screenings for films seeking international sales and/or local distribution, alongside modules for publishers, other IP owners, screenwriters, creatives and directors all pitching to producers and enriching panel discussions.

The market itself offers a comprehensive suite of tailored programs including Bridging the Gap for producers with pitch-ready, developed script-stage projects, while those with a completed film seeking world sales or local distribution can attend Breakthru Screenings. The Postscript & Direct program is an opportunity for selected writers and creatives seeking to interest local producers in their work. Publishers and producers can discuss the latest manuscripts ripe for adaptation in Books at MIFF whilst Nexus enables intellectual-property rights holders to pitch their creative assets to producers for screen adaptations. Link Up fosters conversations and relationships between producers and partner organisations and Team Up enables business connections and creative collaborations between independent producers and larger production partners. Additionally, State of Play sees the market’s financing guests and producers unpack the pressing screen industry issues of the day and discuss the latest sales and distribution happenings.
