Alfonso Cuarón's Oscar winning sci-fi masterwork that needs to be seen on the big screen
“a thing of transcendent beauty and terror. It’s more than a movie. It’s some kind of miracle” - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Alfonso Cuarón won Best Director at the Academy Awards for this breathtaking tale of grief told against the vast and awe-inspiring backdrop of space. Specialist Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is sent on her first space mission to help upgrade the Hubble telescope, along with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney). When an unexpected and dramatic collision with space debris causes irrevocable damage to their shuttle, the astronauts find themselves stranded and with no way of contacting mission control for help.
Working again with long time collaborator Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (who also won an Oscar for his work), Cuarón has fashioned an elegant and thrilling big screen space adventure as the astronauts combat nail biting odds in their quest to make it back home.
