WA’s own film festival dedicated to celebrating powerful women in film from all around Australia and the world! A fun day of networking and showcasing WA talent, supporting women in filmmaking, and sharing the love for all things film.

We aim to –
-Offer prizes to help support women in film.
-Provide networking opportunities to female filmmakers.
-Showcase the female perspective and talent in storytelling.
-Giving a platform to indie female filmmakers.

Because of our female-focus, we require all submitted films to have two “above the line” persons identifying as female. “Above the line” roles refer to Writer, Director, or Producer. One person can fulfil two qualifying roles (i.e. Writer/Director, etc). If you have less than two persons among those roles, we may provide an exception if you also have two persons identifying as female among the roles of Editor, DOP, or Production Designer. Please email us if you intend to use this exception, or include it in your submission.

Please make sure to read through our festival rules prior to submitting your film.

Rules:
-For a film to be eligible for the festival, two “above the line” filmmakers on the project must identify as female.
-All films must be under 30 minutes.

-Works in progress may be submitted, however, they are required to be complete by the final submission date.
-Films with female leads may enter either the “Narrative Short Film” or the “Narrative Short Film with Female Lead” category, or both, but they will only be rewarded for one.
-Films entered in any category qualify for our “Achievement Awards”, however, only female crew members qualify for our role specific Achievement Awards. For this reason, we request that all films wishing to submit include a list of female crew members, or an EPK with that information.

-All films must be uploaded by the filmmaker onto FilmFreeway or via a Vimeo link for judging. Please provide the password on your application.

-Submitted films must not be available freely online on any platform. The film may be available online if protected behind a paywall of more than $5 AUD.
