HAS YOUR MUSIC FEATURED IN A SCREEN PRODUCTION OVER THE PAST YEAR?

APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC) are thrilled to invite submissions for the 2024 Screen Music Awards. These awards celebrate excellence and innovation in screen composition across 13 categories, recognising outstanding contributions in short films, television series, documentaries, children’s programming, feature films, and more.

This year, we introduce three exciting new award categories:

  • Best Music for Unscripted & Reality Television Series
  • Best Music for a Video Game or Other Interactive Media
  • Emerging Screen Composer of the Year

Additionally, the Best Music for a Television Series category has been expanded into two distinct categories: Television Comedy and Television Drama. These updates reflect industry feedback and aim to better acknowledge the diversity of TV content.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?

Submissions are open to any APRA composer member whose work was featured in a production that received its first public screening, broadcast, or release between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024. This includes releases on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, and other streaming services.

The eligibility period for Feature Film Score of the Year is from 1 July 2023 to 30 September 2024. The production must have its first public screening, broadcast, or commercial release within this timeframe.

Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your genius and be recognised among Australia’s finest in screen music composition.
