TVNZ 6: kisses off pre-schoolers in favour of teens and ads

TVNZ will ditch its kids-centric TVNZ 6 in favour of a commercial free-to-air youth-targeted channel in March 2011. Some TVNZ 6 programming will shift to 7, which will remain commercial free.

6 currently screens 12 hours of pre-school programming (in 4 hour blocks) seven days a week, followed by older kids and family-focused viewing into the evenings. 2 hours of pre-school programming will shift to 7 as part of the change.
