Initially handed out by the press, the 52nd edition of the Grand Prize of the International Critics’ Week will be awarded by a jury for the third time at the upcoming 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Previous juries were presided by South Korean filmmaker, screenwriter and novelist Lee Chang-dong and French film director Bertrand Bonello, with Portuguese auteur Miguel Gomes appointed as president of the jury this year.

‘I am very proud to be able to support a film by rewarding it. Even though I have just completed a short and am preparing a feature film, this is an experience I couldn’t resist taking part in,’ said Gomes in a statement.
