MIPTV organisers are celebrating half a century of the market event’s editions, amid mixed reports on the business done. Reed Midem claimed more than 11,000 attendees and “a plethora of deals”, while more neutral commentators and long-standing attendees observed the market was quiet this year.

MIPTV has expanded somewhat in recent years, adding in conference- and pitch-focused events either before or during the week’s events, but wasn’t making any claims about record attendances this year – despite trumpeting significant number increases in certain demographics.
