Organisers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) recently announced that they will extend the deadline for film submissions to 31 January.

Executive Secretary Tony Anih said that the deadline was extended in order to allow more African filmmakers to submit their films. Following a crash of the official website – www.ama-awards.com – the site made it impossible for the AMAA to retrieve some of the entries that were submitted online, while many filmmakers from northern, central and southern Africa were unable to submit their projects online at all.
