City Homicide: New cops on the block.

No brown suits, no Ford Falcons, but there's a lot of history being imbued in Seven's new Melbourne cop show, City Homicide. And not a forensic slab in sight.

Channel Seven today announced filming will commence next week on the new Australian drama series City Homicide.

Shooting begins in Melbourne Monday April 16 on the fast paced police drama that explores the world of the homicide squad based in a large metropolitan city. It’s told through the eyes of four young detectives and their superiors.

City Homicide boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Shane Bourne stars as Detective Senior Sergeant Stanley Wolfe, and Noni Hazlehurst as Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley. The four young and ambitious detectives are Nadine Garner as Jennifer Mapplethorpe, Damien Richardson as Matt Ryan, Aaron Pedersen as Duncan Freeman and Daniel MacPherson as Simon Joyner.
