The film distribution division of the Australian Film Institute (AFI) closed on 30/06/02. Since then, the AFI has endeavoured to contact all of the filmmakers it represented, to arrange for the collection and return of their film materials. However, the AFI still has a number of film prints in storage that belong to filmmakers who have not responded to the AFI’s correspondence or who the AFI has been unable to contact.

Unfortunately, the AFI is no longer able to store those film materials. Any materials not collected by 30/06/04 will be removed from AFI premises and disposed of and, by this notice, the AFI is aiming to notify filmmakers who have not yet collected their film materials of these arrangements.
