ABC: journalist headed to Oxford

Karen Percy, winner of the ABC Scholarship to the Reuter Foundation in Oxford, will focus on Islam and the media.

The Chairman of the ABC, Donald McDonald AO, today announced that Karen Percy is the 2006 winner of the ABC Scholarship to the Reuter Foundation in Oxford.

Karen has been a reporter and presenter for ABC Television and Radio for a total of eleven years, after starting with the ABC as a cadet in 1987. After a stint with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto, Karen returned to Australia four years ago. Karen has reported for the 7pm news, Lateline, The 7.30 Report, while also reporting for radio current affairs on a range of topics; including world events and politics.
