The ABC launches new 30-part drama set in Perth high rise towers, and Nine unveils bad mummy murder mystery series.

Hopes are high for this long-form ABC/Matchbox drama series shot in WA and following the relationships, work lives and everyday challenges of six families living in the Arcadia Heights social housing towers. The ABC press release promises ‘a ground-breaking serial drama about a community trying to protect its way of life, while under the constant threat of gentrification and the social stratification of its neighbourhood.’ The diverse ensemble cast includes Marcus Graham (Secret City), Shari Sebbens (The Sapphires), Roz Hammond (Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell), Fiona Press (Home and Away), Dan Paris (Neighbours), Calen Tassone (Red Dog: True Blue, Black Comedy), Saskia Hampele (Neighbours, A Few Less Men), Phoenix Raei (Wentworth, Romper Stomper), Yazeed Daher (Safe Harbour, Anzac Girls) and newcomers Bridie McKim, Mitchell Bourke, Koa Nuen, Cara McCarthy and Carina Hoang.
