It is easy to turn the story of contemporary journalism into a disaster. Massive job losses in print, cuts to national broadcasters, the shrivelled advertising budgets…
But there is another story, which we barely touch on, which surfaces each year when the Walkley nominations come out. Journalism itself is happily migrating to new media, keeping its standards and finding a trickle of money, mostly through institutional support.
