Parliament House hit by industry celebrity power

The sector had its best reception for a long time in Parliament on Tuesday, with a long way to go.

Nobody wants to focus on the tactics behind Tuesday’s lobbying mission this week, just before Parliament breaks for the winter recess. The nuts and bolts stuff is not on message.

But there is one obvious result which is a genuine milestone. The centrepiece was a half hour panel discussion in the public thoroughfare of the Mural Hall, with Deborah Mailman, Richard Roxburgh, Jo Porter, Anita Jacoby, Andrew Knight, Gillian Armstrong, Ellie Beaumont and Phil Noyce in attendance. It is preserved on a Facebook video.
